if the burn is not through the clearcoat, you can try 1200 grit wetsand, followed by 2000 wetsand, compound, then polish, then wax. if you do not know what you are doing, you will sand or burn through the clear yourself. most detail shops will not wetsand or try and repair this kind of damage due to the fact that they may go through the clear. if you want them to try, you will have to assure them you are not holding them responsible for doing so.

most likely, you are going to have it painted. good luck with whatever you do.

If scratch-x wont get it off, try using something more aggressive like DACP.

Do you have a ro polisher?

where are you located? If you are nearby I can help you out.
Thank you! I was looking at the Meguiar's DACP stuff. I went to my local AutoZone afterwork and although they don't carry this product, the guy recommended "Turtle Wax Premium Grade Rubbing Compound - For medium to heavy oxidization and scratches" for the onsale price of $5.99. He, like most of you, recommended to buff out with an orbital. I dont have an orb but once I got home I rubbed that stuff in to that burn spot HARD and after 4 applications there was no more burn marks or even the faintest yellow residue I had after I used the Scratch X. It was like nobody even put out a cigar on my hood. It didn't ruin the paint or anything. After that I just spot polish and waxed the area and it's good to go! And everything is back to how it should be....good.

Thanks all for your help!

Should have grabbed the cigar and taken it to the police station for DNA evidence.

I'm sure that lowlife has probably got warrants so his will be in the database.
