Road trip to Cali

Hey guys, my GF and I are planning on taking a road trip to SoCal for a week in August. She was suggesting we take a rental car, but I really wanted to take the G.

The question that I have is that how bad do you think the tires are gonna get raped if I make the drive from Seattle? We're planning on going to Anaheim and LA, so how are the roads there?

Any advice would be great

It's about a good 22 hour drive. So, 2 days with rest to go down that far. I don't think your going to have a problem on tires. It's just mostly freeway driving. When are you planning to come down in August. There's a BBQ for the Norcal/Socal meet on the way down to LA. Maybe you can stop by and meet some G owners before you cruise to LA. I live in OC so I'm close to Anaheim and LA...OH, buy a leather bra or tape up the front end to avoid highway rock chips and bugs...It does a lot of damage to your bumper going down that 5...

if the G is your daily driver then rent a Car
if you hardly drive your G then take the G.
roads here are fine and don't worry about the tires.

Do you have stock tires or after market rims and all? Anyways, hwy driving should be easy on the tires normal wear is ok. LA fwy are pretty good not as bad as some states. The 5 fwy around Anahiem has been fix for about a year or so not only is it smooth it's very wide. We drove to Seattle once it took 17 hours of total driving not counting the stops. Of course we drove a rented van driving up and back. That was an interesting trip to make, but never again.

Faison... I'm going there the first week of Aug. from 08/03-08/08 . I was going to drive to the bay, then go down to LA. Finacially and time wise, we decided to fly to the bay, and rent a car and go down to LA. If you drive. expect 4 days of driving.... I'm going through Hertz. Costco has good deals on renting from Hertz, and they got an M45!!!
