With my experience they only take a pic of the front. The reason for this is they have to get the face of the violator when the offense was done. Well at least that is what I was told, but don't know if it was true.

if your front tires were across you can fight it...if you have a witness. Or depending on where the camera was situated and if it caught the street lines as well.

The camera tickets are not real tickets. They are a way of them getting you to admit guilt. When you get the ticket (if they can see your license plate and do send it to you), you will notice that there is no court date on the ticket. In the state of CA, there will be a court date on all legitimate traffic tickets....this one does not have one, and thus it is not a legitimate ticket.

My bf got one about four months back, never responded, and never heard anything from them again. He got a legitimate ticket about a month and a half ago, and the red light ticket was not on his record....thus leading me to believe the information above is true. Good luck with it....I'd recommend not responding.

Photo ticket..........maybe?

Every major intersection in my valley has those cameras.....kinda makes you
drive more carefully. Being a rebel no one in my family runs front license
plates and I sprayed that clear reflective spray on our back plates. I may
have tested it last week although I didn't see a flash.....time will tell. If your
front wheels were across the crosswalk you were in the intersection. You
are probably safe with this incident.....they review the photos to make sure
you were in violation. Don't worry, it's only $$!

if the light turns red while you are half way through the intersection, then you are ok. If it turns red while you just barely crossed the limit line, then you have just ran a red light. At a certain point from the intersection, the yellow light supposedly gives you enough time to make a complete stop or get halfway thorugh the intersection.

+1 on the front, rear, and video. They would need a picture of the face and the rear license plate alone is not enough. Although these tickets do put a point on your driving record.

Bro, this might help out...Lots of useful info about fighting tickets on this site.
I've beat the law and won 4x with the help of this info (2 speeding tix, 1 rolling stop, 1 illegal right turn).
Hope it helps!

how long does it take for them to bill you from the incident?
My light was red and I was trying to make a right. I wasn't braking too much, so my front wheels stopped after the line and *FLASH*. I wasn't sure if that was for me, but no cars were speeding nor any car running the light. It's been like a month or so, and nothing in my mailbox. Am I safe?

Bust a James Bond by rigging a button that changes the plate, then fly through the camera.
