Where is there a good BBQ place in the Irvine area? Please don't say Lucilles or Joey's BBQ? I'm looking for a mom and pop place that makes awesome BBQ sauce.

I know of one in Ventura called Just BBQ in the food court of the Century Theatres but that is way too far from Irvine.

not in Irvine, but not too far = Tulsa Rib Co on Tustin in Orange is real good http://www.tulsarib.com/contact.html

Rib Trader on Chapman (just east of 55) is okay http://www.ribtrader.com/

but one of the best small BBQ joints in OC is Blakes - it's in an industrial complex in Anaheim near 91 & 55 http://www.blakesplacebbq.com/menu.html

Not sure if this has been posted or not. I personally like this better than In-N-Out. =X

TK Burgers - Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa/Bristol, Costa Mesa/19th, Mission Viejo.

"TK Burgers started in Newport Beach in 1986. The original store is still there located in McFadden Square (Newport Beach). What started off as a small burger shop, has turned into four thriving locations with more on the way soon! At TK's we strive to provide an interesting environment to dine in. We like to think of our stores as a sort of "backyard barbeque" restaurant. A place where you can come to relax, enjoy the authentic decor, eat great food and take a small break from your busy day.

We believe that Food Quality is first and foremost. At TK's, every item is always cooked to order, nothing is ever pre-cooked. Take a look for yourself, there are no warming ovens, heat lamps, or food warmers located within our stores. All of our food is health consciously prepared and char broiled. We use only the finest name brand ingredients and freshest produce available. Out meat is delivered daily, NEVER FROZEN. Our buns are custom made solely for TK Burgers, and we have an exclusivity agreement with our Baker. This is how we make the Burgers that are constantly voted number one."
