-bore out the engine to AT LEAST 3.7L, 4.2 preferred
-larger injectors, upgraded fuel rails, larger fuel pump
-aggressive lift cams
-VTC Pulley
-increase compression ratio
-upgraded pistons, rods, studs
-and tuning of course, probably F-Con or now popular MOTEC
this will net you 350+Whp @ 7800 RPM. (rev limited adjusted)
(done in japan with multiple VQ35s)
If you've got the money, this is the way to do it.
imagine this thing out on the track. (non 1/4 mile)
that or drop an LS7 in your G.
That'll make for some interesting sunday drives. LOL!!!!

Not the G. But you could also get a Pontiac Solstice/ Saturn Sky with a Mallet upgrade (corvette LS1?). I read I think it was in Car & Driver that they tested it in Detroit on a cold day. It did a 4.9 sec. 0-60 from 2nd gear at just above idle take off. They said the full up grade was about $20K, so around $45-50K. I'd buy one but my wife said "NO!", I need a four seater. But you never know.

and by the way...
the E46 doesn't really handle all that great.
at least when compared to it's predecessor the E36.
now, that was a beast at the tracks.
a little slower than the E46 but man... it would carve lines in those corners REAL nice!
the e46 M3 was a step down in handling. but a definite step up in straightline performance.
the e36 was racking up wins world-wide (til the GTR stepped in)
