And as far as your comparison with the G35 and 335.. Are you implying a manual G35 will beat an auto 335? Lol cause if that's what you're implying that is SO off. First of all, you selling G35's is no different from me owning one when in comes to knowing a car's speed, because I drive my G everyday, so I know how fast it is just as much as you do. Second, and people may disagree with this, but from my experience, if there are two exact same cars but one is manual and one is auto on the street, I would bet on the auto any day. From my experience, a car's computer can shift better than the average driver(average, NOT all). I say this because I've raced 3 manual Z's so far, and I RAPED them(like 2 car lengths by 60). But even if the manual G had a decent driver, stock for stock I'm very sure it would lose to an auto 335. Manual G35 is ABOUT 0.7/0.8 sec slower on the 1/4mile than a manual 335, so unless you're implying the auto 335 is 0.8/0.9 slower than the manual version, I don't see how a manual G35 will beat an auto 335i... And that's considering the G35 has a good/decent driver.
The 335 starts at $39,400. the current EVO starts at just under $33,000. The EVO definately handles better, but the 335 will spank it on a roll, stock for stock.

I'd take the auto any day for pure straight line acceleration. A manual will be slower in EVERY CASE for high powered turbo cars.

I am in no way implying a manual G35 will beat a auto 335, it's the exact other way around. I completely agree with that.

Since we're at a EVO vs 335 comparison, try taking an EVO for a drive cross country, then try the 335, and see which was easier. That's what the extra $$ buys you.

For the sake of comparison, thats the EVO is faster than a G35 for *most* comparison purposes, but I'd gladly lose a little performance for all the comfort and luxury you pick up in a G

aww cmon guys.. chill out..

this was originally a thread to see if i had a chance against a 335.

looks like i need to do alot more work to get to that level.

as Dru mentioned.. some headwork, larger displacement and etc.. its too much $$.. so im gonna have to sit back and relax.. and let my buddy's 335 rape in the corn hole.

I hope those of you with FI will take down a 335 for me! =)
as for me.. i dont want to deal with the extra trouble of converting an NA car into an FI car. too lazy..

335i vs. G35 is all about price/performance.

If you want to spend the extra $10K and get a factory warranty with your FI plus enjoy heaps of BLUE PROPELLER-EMBLEM SNOB FACTOR™ then you're after the 335i...

Or you can do what I do and have a car that's fast enough and fun enough and go on really great vacations with the left-over pocket change.

Besides... if you're drag-racing $40-50K luxury cars, you're just an...

Go buy a Civic and NAWS your VTAC and feel the Need for Speed, fool!
