flat, semi-flat, matte, gloss, etc.
I went to Autozone and purchased $19 in paint supplies, including small can of Duplicolor primer spray in gray, Duplicolor acrylic enamel color spray in flat black, Duplicolor clearcoat spray and a pack of 400 grit sandpaper.

what is to be lost about?
if you want a glossy black grille, then use glossy black paint
if you want a flat black grille, then use a flat black paint.
if you want a matte black grille, then use a mattle black paint.
seems pretty straight foward to me...

Calvin, you're confusing everyone....HAHA!
Doing your grille should be a DIY project on a nice warm day when you have
all day to make it right. My choice for painting the grille would be to begin
with sanding lightly, primer coat, semi-gloss black and semi-gloss clear coat.
High gloss would look funky but whatever you do have fun and enjoy your
work after it's completed....leave Mt Fuji chrome!
