Mike gets rear ended....

Updated 5/6

Car is TOTALLED!!!!

Damage is circled in on the car.

The above 3 pictures show the frame dmg.... yes, it's that minor...

*updated 4/28*

I just got word from the body shop that the damage so far is 10k+ after taking panels off and looking at the damage underneath the surface. I was also informed that there was frame damage on the car (the car's frame was bent outwards on both sides) and that the ENTIRE PANEL on both sides of the car on the rear end are also going to be replaced. As a result, pretty much the entire car has to be repainted to be color matched.

GAHHHH now I'm hoping they total the car...

Rear ended...

*update 4/17*

It was actually a LA County Sheriff that hit me... cool guy. He was really nervous and was actually shaking from shock because he'd never gotten into an accident before.

I reported the accident yesterday, and his insurance called me this morning and said that they are taking full responsibility, and that my insurance should just send them all the bills.

+1 for a nice guy.

Side note: active headrests are the SH*T. I have no whiplash at all.

He did.... have an insurance card, but it was expired.

Sigh. Called my insurance today, appt on friday morning for an estimate.

At least I found out that active headrests ARE THE SH*T cuz I had no whiplash whatsoever.

I'll find out tomorrow if I'm sore.

Today was the second time I drove it since I got it back.... (friend is borrowing it). We were on the way to Noodle World... I stop for a yellow... and WHAM.

Active headrests... all G's have them. When you get rear ended, the headrests move forward to reduce/eliminate whiplash.

I dunno about paint... I like my serengeti... it blends in and I get no attention... which could also be why I got hit.

On the other hand... my exhaust MAY be damaged.... though I doubt it.

Damn, sorry to hear. But damn! Serengeti Sand!? I haven't seen one in ages! And I thought CB was rare. Hate it when another endangered species goes down.

Man that sucks!
I got rear ended a few weeks ago also. Not near as bad as yours. Mine has been in the shop for a week now and they dont expect to have it finished before next Tuesday. So far they are up to $2800.
Hope everything turns out well for you.
