those guys played against mediocre teams... we are not the Jazz or the Nuggets... we actually play defense and can score without Tim Duncan having to score 25+ points a game... its experience as a team and confidence in one another... the Lakers might get that sooner or later but as of now... they arent really seen as a real threat in my book.

The Lakers are one of the youngest teams in the league.

I believe SA is one of if not the oldest.

Duncan had 30 pts.

Spurs had a 20 pt lead

Kobe took less shots than Duncan.

Ma "Nose" and Parker shot for a combined 33% from the field.

Nice generalization. So no such thing as diehard fans in LA huh?

Tim had 30 cuz you really think Gasol has the ability to guard him... lol... Parker and Manu will get hot and you have no one that can stop them either... the Lakers have 1 threat... Kobe after that your done. End of story... and as stated earlier 1 game doesnt make a series... look at our last series went 7 and they had 2 threats...

90% of the Laker fans you talk to cant name more than 3 players... so yeah im sure there are a couple actually i know 2 i talked to one on aim and he laughed cuz he knew we werent getting calls... imagine that... but LA is a bandwagon fair weather town... if you arent doing well you wont get supported... i classify the new lakers in the same category as the hornets... a passing fad...

Agreed.

Calls always favor the home teams. That's how it's been, that's how it will always be. Part of home court advantage.

And when Duncan retires, that's EXACTLY what the Spurs will be. Sure the fans come out for the game in numbers...that's all they've got.

Maybe 90% of the fans that YOU talk to. Everyone I know that I discuss hoops with are all VERY knowledgeable. Maybe you shouldn't discuss basketball with the hoops challenged.

Funny how fanaticism skews perception. What Iverson and Melo aren't dual threats? Who had the best home record in the NBA?

Gasol aint gonna stop Duncan. Everyone knows that. Gasol is not a defensive player. Duncan is a safe player (meaning his game is one of the ugliest in the league). It's effective and he's the first black man that I've ever seen who plays a white man's style.

Do you really think that Kobe is going to be the only player to produce in the series? Do you really think that Odom or Gasol aren't going to produce at all during the series? And we're playing without a center.

I'll lay $100 on the Lakers advancing, as this forum is my witness.

Given that you are a Spurs and Cowboys fan, one would assume that you live in Texas. Why would you be a fan of any LA team? I never got that.

Sounds like your roomates are bandwagon fans as well. That's like the person that was a Patriots fan until this year, and now they're Giants fans. Believe me, there's tons of those as well.
