I'd check the site I gave you. Once you find out what kind of chip you have, you can update the firmware via DVD and the image is usually downloadable from their respective site.

I know someone in Van Nuys (or was it North Hollywood?) who does this out of his house, but he has this website:

www.xbupgrade.com

Nice guy to deal with and responds quickly. Does xbox too.
I gave them a call, hopefully they return my call.

thanks for the help!

They are actually easy to get from Target or Toys-R-Us. The trick is to hit the store right when they open on the weekend when their Sat/Sun ads come out. Good Luck.

Yes, they are availble on ebay and also available from mod chip suppliers.

Here is a good resource:

That would mean you wern't there early enough. When the ad is in the paper, the store got a shipment. I got several before xmas this way.

For those planning on modding, remember the newer wii's use a different mod chip than the earlier ones.

Damn, these are still in demand? I see people on CL trying to trade out for a PS3 all day long.

I just sold my Wii with 3 games for $200.

Bring it on little girl! BTW ... whats up with the 4AM post? No wonder you can't wake up on the weekends to buy one!

Any of you guys know where I can get one of these locally?:

I bet the people trading them in are the parents that want the blu-ray.

Install prices are nuts on that website. I use mod playstation 1/2 all the time. It's pretty easy once you get the technique down. I haven't modded my wii yet since it's too hard to find a replacement if something was to happen.
