U cannot reschedule a trial date. The court extension date that u get is for the arraignment which the cop is not part of. Once the trial date is set, it is set and there is no way to change it and they will have the trial date on a day that the cop is off and ready to get paid OT!
That being said with these gas prices and stuff i don't think any cop would refuse to do OT by just going to court for couple of hours and getting paid for the whole day.
Hoping that the cop will not show up in court is not a smart way to fight a ticket.

Admitting guilt at the scene is taking a major risk. If he decides to write u anyway there is no way to fight that ticket afterwards. I have done that before when I got caught doing 75 in 40 zone and he let me go. The way that officer was talking to me I thought I would take that chance and admit that I fvcked up and it worked in my favor.

Speeding in Ca.....in front of a L.A. County Sheriff!

Ok, it's time to stand up and admit you were wrong....70 MPH in a 40 is just
careless/dumb! Playing games with our Ca. court system will not get this
violation reduced. Pay the ticket and next time you feel like speeding
make sure there's no one else around....for miles....live and learn Bro!

as klubbheads said, extending the court date and hoping the officer wont show is not very smart, there is an incentive for the cop to show, a paid day, who wouldn't, think about it, even in court, i know i'd be nervouse presenting my case againts the cop, he doesnt want to end up looking like an @ss, i still think ur best shot is trial by written declaration, the officer makes countless stops every month, it woudl be hard for him to remember down to the detail of the stop better than you would, 2 months later, if he doesn't submit his summary, charges dropped and you get your $ back

Doesn't matter if he can re-summarize what happened. All the court needs to know is that the officer got you going 70mph in a 40mph zone and you signed the ticket acknowledging the event. Lets just SAY the radar was off, give or take 10mph (which is kinda a HUGE mistake), you are still looking at 60mph in a 40 zone. Sure you might get a discount on your ticket, but you still get a record. Hoping for the officer to not show is really not that smart. Chances are they will show since they get paid anyway. Traffic case, they dont give you a lot of time. It's just the officer story, how you plead and why, and judge decide. The judge isnt gonna sit there and watch the drama of a peace office vs a civilian with record. Just pay the ticket and dont waste your time.

i don't think u realize that the officer does not get paid to write a trial by written declaration. When they go to the court they get paid for it, when they sit at home and write for a itty bitty traffic infraction, they don't get paid for it. That being said which one do u think the officer is going to do? Sit at home and try to recall a story or come to court and get paid for it?

You will not get your licensed suspended. If my memory serves me correct you have to be double the posted speed. If you want traffic school go see the judge and ask for level 2 traffic school. I have taken level 2 many times and everytime I have requested it the judge has given it to me. No points on your record.

Honestly there are so many loop holes in the system that you can play games. It's your job to find them.

But I do agree with you...if you want to speed be prepared to face the consequences of getting caught and or hurting someone in the process. Be sensible about it.

Cool hey now

haha o thanx dont do it as much as me lol actually i have never been to court or actually received a ticket....like i said i am very very lucky a few written warnings but that never hurt anyone...i also dont speed around other cars where i could hurt someone jsut by myself

also to my other comment about switching the dates...think about it a cop works a 10-12 hr day..usually four on two off or such..on the day he is supposed to be in court he does not patrol they have other officers....well on a day hes off hes gonna either one be off and not willing to come in or two on the road...if hes on the road they wont sacrifice another car to be off duty just for YOU and your one dumb ticket unless i stated you made he/she mad and they have a reason to be out for you...your just one ticket in a month where they probably have handed out 300 themselves
