i think there is still a 240 sx for sale in my complex. Its a 95 fully loaded, but it is auto. It has 350Z touring wheels on it. It had a phone number. Ill take a look at it for you!!! Other wise a hyundai Accent would be good. Literally no mod parts available!!!!!! and dirt cheap

Get a Geo Prizm. Corolla engine ftw, some owners don't even know that and practically give it away.

^^^I have a 1999 Corolla. Same engine that's in the Prizm. Almost the same body, too. LOL

I'm tired of the Corolla.

240sx's are hard to find clean, and even so they have probably been beaten up by wannabe takumi's.

6th gen celica's will be hard on insurance and they are hard to find

Integra's are horrible on insurence and are one of the most widely stolen vehicles in the country, and are incredibly easy to break into and take.

I would agree with the civic purchase. Get an old civic hatch. they are a lot of fun to drive and cheap to mod and nice on gas.

if you're looking for mainly highway mileage i would suggest a mid-ninties grand marquis or vic, get one with the 2.73 gears and you should be up near 30mpg highway fairly easily (if you keep your foot out of it), and with gas prices they are dirt cheap. the aero bodies are nearly as aerodynamic as a G, and not much heavier, esp if you get a '96-97 with the aluminum hood. i got rid of my last one thinking that the mileage in the G would be a lot better, unfortunately it wasn't.

35mpg highway is pretty achievable even.

just mentioning 'cause the prices have been falling like mad, so you should be able to pick one or two up for your budget...

The NA Z32's are just as hard to work on. Changing the injectors is the same on an NA one. I helped a buddy change his injectors on his 93 NA, and I did my own on my TT. The stock turbo's are pretty great, but if your car is high milage then you may run into troubles. Turbo's themselves aren't very expensive. It's the labor on the Z32 that kills you if you don't do the work yourself. Also you get really bad milage. I really want another Z32. I almost bought another one last winter but decided to just go FI on the G instead.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm actually looking to spend about 2k. I'll be going to Univ. of Redlands, well, would like to, for GIS masters and I live in Arcadia and work in Glendale..can't imagine how much gas would be.

I've been thinking of a Honda Civic, Honda CVCC, Geo Metro, Toyota Tercel or Corolla, all between the years of 85 and approx 98.
