plastic mesh is the only way to go. painted metal meshes will chip in a matter of days.

I did my own mesh. Got supplies from Home Depot and it was pretty easy.

I'm just hoping the chips on the metallic black painted mesh aren't going to be too bad

i ordered the customautomesh and preferred metal mesh over, it so gar i have had very few chips, and the chps that do exist are not visible unless by magnifying glass. the plastic mesh is hard to work with from my experience and even after straightening w/ heat it still looked wavy, hence went to supply shop for metal mesh

i found a hexagon honey comb type mesh, though it may seem very transparent up close, from a far its all black + i painted behind the radiator and what not black

^^ where'd you find the hexagon mesh at? and how did you paint everything behind it black? the only thing that is bothering me right now is that support bar behind the bumper with the hole for the stillen license plate holder hole.

http://www.mcmaster.com/
Los Angeles, (562) 692-5911
they're in santa fe springs

go to their website and search for "expaned metal sheets"
or if you call mention it is on page 3628 in catalog #114
there're all types/sizes available

as far as the chipping issue, you can send it out to get black anodized. little costly but maybe worth in your case?
