Google Map of the driving route.

Google says 8 hours 7 minutes.

We left at 5:30AM and got back by 10:30 AM....

327 miles divided by 5 hours... average speed of 65.4 mph and we were never going faster than the flow of traffic on the freeway sections...

Driving included about 100 miles total of prime canyon/mountain roads, about 130 miles on 'regular freeway' and about 100 miles of back roads that have absolutely no traffic.

I wish I still had my STI for some sections of this drive... as the s2k doesn't do too well going uphill or over jumps ;(

Props to James for leading the post-palomar section through Julian and borrego springs.
