Grounding wires in SOCAL

I got some grounding wires installed from my friend who makes these (SBD GROUNDING WIRE KIT). it really helped out my car. i have a AT, and now i cant even feel like im shifting, the car is so much smoother, it revs so much better, audio is crispier in louder as well. I recommend this mod. every g should have these. pm me if you wanna get these. If you are local in socal, he can install these for you as well. he is in the riverside area. bump for a great guy.

its not all butt dyno... especially for the 5AT, you can notice the faster shifts

I highly doubt that. Running a few extra wires is not going to affect the amp's and speaker's quality. Sure it will ensure that you have a good ground, but it will not make the audio sound any better. Even if it did, it wouldn't be noticeable. I can guarantee that...it's only a mind thing.

Louder? Again, it won't be noticeable. If anything, it might be .1 dB louder and that is not something you are going to notice a difference on. I had a Term Lab back when I changed audio setups as often as once or twice a week and I did quite a bit of testing with different enclosures, subs, amps, etc. It's even difficult to notice a 1 dB increment unless you are told there is a difference.

The only thing a good ground does is ensure that the amplifier does not have any ground loop issues.

i used to ride the fence with grounding kits but after experiencing a 5AT with grounding kits and comparing with my car, there is def a difference in shifting.

To be honest I'm agreeing at this point. I haven't tried any grounding wires out just yet and I'll be doing it myself anyway since I have a ton of Kicker Hyperflex from previous car audio installs. Plus I prefer using copper lugs since copper is a better conductor. I'm thinking that if there is a difference, the primary and most noticeable one for the shifting would be for the TCU, and possibly ECU to be grounded.

As far as running additional electrical equipment, such as an additional amp, it will help, but really all you need for that is 3 wires. Battery negative to chassis, battery negative to engine block, and battery positive to alternator positive. It helps with maintaining voltages during spikes, however, there is only so much give. It all depends on the current being drawn.

IMO, the best way to tell whether these wires make a difference is for a person to drive a vehicle that has a kit and another that doesn't and they decide which is different....or you can mix it up and add a 3rd vehicle so that 2 of them are not using any such kit. Pick the wrong one and you have your answer. Human perception can be quite horrible, I know it is with hearing and our minds play a huge role in that.

I have seen some posts where people indicate more horsepower and better gas mileage...that I will not buy into. But smoother shifting, I say it is a possibility.

When I installed my grounding wires I definitely felt a difference in shifting. The car was more responsive and didn't lag as much when shifting, that was basically the biggest difference I could tell that happened due to the grounding wires. I was actually really surprised at the outcomes, because after doing research about it on the forum, I really didn't think the grounding wires were going to make a significant difference.

I'm looking to do this too. OP, how much does your friend charge to install the GW kit?

I saw a mag back in the spring (I think D Sport) that recommended the A'Pexi grounding system for an additional 3.3HP and 1.3LB/FT.

Just wanted to know everyone's opinions about that. Especially those who've done this upgrade

Full of **** is all I can say. You're not going to see any horsepower or torque increase. It's all in the head if you do.

Like you're really going to feel 3.3HP.

That's a small enough gain to be negligible, IMO. Probably did three dyno pulls and took the highest one. Each pull always varies by a few...they just took the one with the greatest difference.
