i hate the rain.. got in an accident..

on the 405 South Freeway on my way to see a customer.. a Celica on the fast lane hydroplaned and started to spin about 200 yards in front of me. The Honda accord about 2000 or 01' in front of me (while both of us are in the car pool lane) couldn't stop in time and hit her. I LUCKILY stopped in time and was about 10-15 feet away. while right behind me, I saw in my rear view mirror, about 5-8 cars slowing down or stopping or some hitting each other, THEN I saw a BIG GMC Suburban SUV trying to dodge everyone(about 5-8 cars) on the shoulder of the car pool lane and side swiped me on the side of my driver side back tire/fender/bumper. She dodged EVERYONE except me.. GREAT huh? Well thank god it's not my fault but take a look at the results in the attachments..
at least it isn't so bad. I get a new rear bumper though =D (since I have 2 big scratches on it already)

did your wheel get damaged, too?

if you want a new wheel as a result, here is a bit of advice: find a wheel repair shop that you know and tell them to tell the insurance company to issue a "reject slip," meaning that they cannot repair it and that you need a replacement. if not, the ins co. will not replace your damaged wheel and will only repair it.

luckily the car is still drivable... the only thing is that if I hit a dip or bump the quarter panel or bumper is hitting my tire and I can hear it too... =/

most likely it's out of alignment, too. i wouldn't drive around too much on it. get a rental through the ins.

Damnn I'm sorry to hear, but heck I'm having a bad day too it's ok. I got rear-ended lightly by my own friend at the light (luckily no damage!), then when I pulled out from the neighborhood after checking out my car I get pulled over for speeding ticket and window tint, then I find my insurance slip was expired a week ago so I got a ticket for that too.

I talked him into letting me slide with the speeding though, whew, but what waste of time and a day hahaha

wow that sucks. how come you didn't notice your insurance was expired? I guess I always switch insurances back and forth because of previous car accidents so I always notice. That's good though that you got off easy..
