guy, this guys work is obviously pretty good but hes not a magician. The mobile repair guys use spray on coatings and paints to fix the wheels with the closest possible match. He essentially is doing wonders on a traveling-to-you basis BUT dont think this is as good as getting the whole wheel refinished.

The whole wheel didnt need to be refinished for such a small scratch but just stop and think...this guy is mobile.

Guy,
I don't remember claiming this was as good as getting the whole wheel refinished. If I did, then my apologies. This is mobile wheel repair, as you said, and he is one of the if not the best in this business. Bump for Son Tran.

Wow, good thread. I've been meaning to get my rims repaired, and I think I finally will now!

PS to everyone else-Son Tran's information is here for anyone who is interested.

He came by on Tuesday to work on my wheels again (cousin curbed the crap out of one of them) and as expected, rims look flawless once again.

[quote=threatcon07;6196844]What are you doing Tmack? Become a vendor and make your own thread if you want to plug your work. Don't clutter this thread with huge pictures of your work! No jackstands on a Maserati FTMFL! Why would you even need to lift the car for wheel repair? smh

The moderators already warned me and issued me a point for a rule that I wasnt aware of. My fault and I should have read the fine print. I was offering comparable service for those that cannot get in touch with Son Tran because I know he is really busy and hard to book appts with. Now as far as your insult about lifting a car up to do a wheel repair....have you even touched a Maserati/Ferrari? Have you looked under one of those cars? If you did you will know that theres a 4"x4" area thats there for a reason. Do you think that Ferrari/Masserati dealer would let me touch any of there cars without the proper know how and insurance? Continue to write checks and let guys like Tran and me work on cars. Wheel repair technicians around SoCal know of each other I give Tran the utmost respect because he is good. Once Im done typing this I will pull pics down.

I haven't touched a Ferrari/Maserati, only a Gallardo. Does that count? I apologize if I insulted you, but I thought it was rude of you to post those huge pics and plug yourself. Common sense dictates against doing that. I will continue to write checks to Son Tran. Thanks for taking the pics down. Son is easy to get a hold on and he is flexible schedule wise.

No worries from a business standpoint...just picked the wrong group/forum/thread to offer my services to. Take care.
