Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

There is that big parking lot and a 1/8 stretch of space on Beach & Atlanta. That's about 1/4 mile from the beach and about 1 1/4 miles from the pier. I am sure in the morning that parking lot would be pretty empty. The only thing is the parking lots is supposedly for shoppers only, and there isn't a whole lot to do there. (Besides getting the yummy Thirfty icecream and awesome Mexican food)

I am from the immediate area so I know it pretty well. It'll take about 15 min to walk to the pier.

Judging by the response I think it might be worthwhile to just pay $10 and park near Hilton. There are several fine dinning choices at reasonable price. I suggest Rubys right at the end of the pier. Might take some time to wait for tables though. (if we have a large group)

Potential locations:

I cruised from Long Beach to San Onfre on the PCH today to look for possible meeting spots. I have narrowed it down to these areas:

a) Huntington Beach like the last time. Probably still the best choice for now. Great view, the pier, good restaurants, frisbee, basketball, beach volleyball, biking, roller blading, sight seeing, fishing, jogging, constructing sand castle. One time parking fee still apply. Downside is there is no shade, and you'll want to play in the sand and water, which means sand and salt in the G35.

b) Crystal Cove Plaza, where the OC cruise met up in the morning. The exotic car show was great, it's got a Starbucj Coffee and it's free parking. Right across the street from the ocean. Closer to Canyon roads for cruising. Less traffic, less crowd. Nice shades. Downside if you have to get there by 9am to make the car show.

c) Salt Creek Beach Park, nice beach, free on street parking. Not a whole lot to do, not safe to show off cars on the side of the road.

d) Dana Point: Awesome view of the harbor from the top. Nice picnic area. Problem is the place is going to be loaded on Saturday, and the scenic parking is on gravel and dirt. Also it's quite far from the LA crowd.

One other thing, maybe we can make this more into a family event instead of just diehard motorheads. Bring your family/significan other along and I am sure we can plan some fun things to do.

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

Just like Sukairain pointed out... if you guys have the meet across from the Hilton Hotel, you will be within 5 minute walking distance to Main Street and have plenty of choices as far as places to eat lunch. There's Fred's, BJ's, Ruby's, Wahoo's, etc. Plus, there's other things to do there. bring your surf boards, boogie boards, volley ball, or basketball, and play under the sun. If you guys want a great beach meet and park close to each other, then you would have to spend money.

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

I say it's either Huntington or Crystal Cove plaza... the better thing about Huntington though... we'll have muchh more to do there... we could meet up at Crystal Cove Plaza first.. take pics wait for everyone to get there then leave to go to huntington and find parking there around 1030-11 latest.

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

Oh yeah, PCH from Huntington Beach to Laguna Beach will definitely have traffic, especially around Newport Beach. We can still go but a caravan would be difficult.

Activities?
a) Car show (HB Classic Cars)
b) Car show (Crystal Cove Exotic Cars)
c) Show off mods (Parking Lot)
d) Browsing (Downtown HB or Fashion Island)
e) Sports (basketball, frisbee, beach volleyball, swimming)
f) Beach stuff
e) All you single guys can go on the pier and just stare at people on the sand.

I agree with Pimp, maybe us light sleepers can meet up early in the morning at Crystal Cove, and drive up to HB around 10am. Everyone can meet at the HB parking lot. I'll try to ask if we can reserve a section of the parking lot for our people.

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

what about the parking structure on main? I had a car meet there, and parking fee was validated by eating there. We met at the top level.

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

We could meet in the parking structure..... but it would be kind of weird to have meet in a big block of concrete even if it's on the roof. Definitely save on parking, but still not that cheap. One hour free with validation, but I figure we'd be there at least 3 hours.

I'll go check it out on Tuesday afternoon....($2 bucks taco day after 2pm at that Mexican restaurante at Main&PCH, second floor) Anyone from HB want to meet up sometimes to plan the meet?

Do you guys think you'd be up for a tournament in building sandcastle G35? It would be stupid and time consuming but it would be fun.

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

Someone was reading my mind! I was going to post this event on this day also, well great minds think a like!

Our last HB meet was in front of the HILTON Hotel near Huntington Street and we had plenty of parking just have to get there on time. The $10 fee is not bad as you can see the water as we hang around our G's.

Good Times!

Re: HUNTINGTON MEET

Dammit, too many blue coupes. I thought the ship carrying Caribbean Blue coupe sank into Long Beach Harbor last winter.

I think we should meet at the same place as last time...across from the Hilton. Lots of parking in a good location. Everyone can save $10 by 8/28. Are we going on another canyon run?

I'm down... I also think it would be cool if we could turn this into a day event and hang out at the beach, have a picnic or something (or grab food nearby), go body/boogieboarding, play volleyball (RoyMunson, did you hear that?). What do you guys think? One thing... we have to try our hardest to get some females who drive G's to join the meet... either that our recruit some women (friends, relatives, whomever) to go. I think the Brea meet on Sat had a 10:1 ratio.... that's 10 guys to 1 girl... c'mon people!!!

Too busy planning I almost forgot to add myself to the list.
Alright then, let's meet at the same place on the beach. I'll get there early in the morning and try to block off a section of the parking lot by the sand. It would help if everyone shows up early enough so we don't get SUV's parked in between G's.

Come on guys, you gotta invite your female friends to the meet. ; ) That's what the backseats in our cars are for. Also, should we invite the FX guys and 350Z guys? I'll bring frisbee and a beach ball. Maybe some watermelons for kicks.
