i was driving by a "carpool park and ride" earlier today and thought that those lots would be a good location for meets. its pretty empty on a saturday morning, and theres a big parking lot that one or 30 could park for free in. there has to be some "park and rides" in HB or costa mesa or newport or somewhere.. does anyone know of any around HB?

Alright, I went to the pier today and evaluated the area.

1) Parking by Hilton remains the best choice at this time. Parking structure is NO GOOD! Too hot, no view of the ocean, will get chased by security if we meet there, also quite expensive ($2 per hour, validate get $2 off) IMO not worth the small saving in parking.

2) Crystal Cove Plaza is not bad, free parking, shade, car show in the morning. However it will be difficult to have any beach activity, since it's a deserted state beach with nothing but lifeguard towers.

3) There is no shortage of beach activity and restaurants in downtown HB. However, it would be great if we can invite some sponsored cars to the meet. R34 GT-R? Infiniti Project G35C? Falken Drift Cars?

Any suggestions or comments? Preliminary Schedule is below for reference.

 

Preliminary Schedule:

08:00am: Exotic Car Show at Crystal Cove Plaza (Newport Beach) - Optional

09:30am: HB Parking lot across street from Hilton Hotel

12:00pm: Lunch at downtown HB, Freds (ate there today, good Mexican food, reasonable price) Rubys (on the pier, excellent view, but may not accomodat party of 10+)

14:00pm: Beach Activity

16:00pm: Cruise PCH on caravans down to Laguna Beach, 133 -->El Toro Rd --> Santiago Canyon Road (LiveOak is optional) --> Jamboree --> Boba in Irvine.

18:00pm: Dinner at Curry House Irvine.

How many of you are crazy enough for a 10 hour meet? Also, who has connections to sponsors? (MotoRex? Nismo? Performance Nissan? Infiniti Dealership? Infiniti HQ? Tein? Falken?) It would be great to get them to bring a 2005 G35 sedan, G35 coupe and M45 to our little meet.

 

Wow thats some schedule. I doubt i can stick around for that long....I will try tho.....Hum....I'll try to bring this to the attention of some sponsors but.....we are doing this right before the Drift event. If we wish to get sponsors out to our meet, we will need to plan it for a couple of weeks later..like after labor day!! IMO...

I think the plan right there is quite solid...i think that'd work out just great... but Ed has a bit of a point if we want sponsors down there... if we wait 'til after labor day or so this could be a HUGE deal i bet.. but if we don't we can still have fun and have our very own still big g35 meet.. and the Z's i think are comin' too from what i've heard
