Re: *** Dyno Day ***

Hey Guys

Since Clint is doing an excellent job organizing the dyno day and tabulating the results, we will be able to make some reasonably valid comparisons with respect to what various mods do on the same car, etc.

I'd like to offer the following. Lets all reset our ECUs NOW, followed by a few days of driving. This will allow for your ECU to learn and provide for a more valid car-to-car comparison.

Re: *** Dyno Day ***

Gurgee,

Does it matter if you do the pedal stomping reset or the battery disconnect reset?

Re: *** Dyno Day ***

Do not know... it may. The info is conflicing.

Here is what you can do.

1) Battery disconnect.
2) the MAF disconnect method (according to the FSM it will clear the long term fuel trim). You disconnect the maf wire harness (do not unbolt the maf housing/etc) and start the car. It will run very rough and VERY VERY rich. But no worries, you only need to do it for 5 seconds. Stop the motor. Reconnect the MAF wire. Do the pedal reset. Now, this method should really NOT be used. Use it only if you really do NOT want to disconnect the battery.

Re: *** Dyno Day ***

Great suggestion Gurgen. The battery disconnect should be sufficient.

Re: *** Dyno Day ***

This is just a curtesy reminder that dyno day is this Saturday, 9-4-2004. It begins at 8:00am. Please try not to be late. We need the cars to be there to qualify for lower cost. Don't be the person that's responsible for ALL of us paying more

Place:
Church Automotive Testing
20950 S. Normandie Ave, Suite K
Torrance, CA 90502
(310) 787-7123

Cost:
5-10 cars: $55
11-15 cars: $50 <-- currently stands
16-20 cars: $45

*** Please bring cash to be paid directly to Church Automotive Testing.

Those who wants to caravan to the location ... feel free to start a new thread about it. I know I'll be interested in one for the Diamond Bar/Rowland Heights area.

Re: *** Dyno Day ***

Absolutely... the battery method is #1.

Some people however do NOT want to lose all their NAV/stereo presets. So doing method #2 is a compromise, a "better-than-nothing" option, and should be done only if you absolutely don't want or can't disconnect the battery.

Re: *** Dyno Day ***

The NAV settings are non-volatile ... thank god. Only the radio stations will be lost.
