Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys-Avoid like the plague

With the close of Santa Monica Infiniti, my local dealer, I am forced to go to Miller Infiniti as my closest dealership for service.

**before anyone starts, I have the dealership, and ONLY Infiniti dealerships, do ALL the regular maintenance while the car is under warranty.**

I have gone twice there for service. The first time I noticed when I got home that they left a big oily smudge on the drivers door panel inside. Didn't notice it when I picked it up. Also, when I got home my low tire pressure sensor lit up. They were supposed to do their multi-point check which should have included the tires.

Regarding the oil-they offered to detail the car but I'd have to bring it and wait for it, costing me half a day of my workday. They wouldn't come out to me to correct it. Wouldnt have been an issue if they were closer but I'm not going all the way out there, losing income, if they screwed it up.

Regarding the tire pressure-I told them I didn't have confidence they actually checked anything else. Service advisor offered to check and correct fluids if necessary since they screwed up and I had to go back. Great!

Well I took it back on my next scheduled maintenance and of course the same service advisor, whom I made my appt with, wasnt there and no one would honor that. I talked to the Service Manager who offered me $15 off the $340 cost of flush and replace the brake and clutch fluids. That's insulting.

In addition to this, they noticed that my right parking light was out. I thought that was odd and was sure it was working the night before when I parked the car. I know this because I look back at the car on the right side to arm it and always notice that light for some reason. Always.
Bought my own replacement bulb only to discover my bulb wasn't out, it was actually MISSING. I suspect they took it out. Stupid.

I'll never go there again. And honestly, I may not buy another Infiniti if they are the closest dealership for service.

I know I sound like a ranting little girl...and I am. I get outraged at little stuff like this. I don't feel they were working to meet me somewhere in the middle and take responsibility for their mistakes.

Sounds like your typical Infiniti dealership to me.

I hear Thousand Oaks has fantastic service, but it's just a bit too far from me.

The more I hear about the Infiniti dealerships the more I hate them. It sucks that we have such bad dealerships for our cars.

Santa Monica was great. Wish they were still around. I'm hearing other stories about Infiniti dealerships now too.
Riverside is WAY too far for me. Without traffic its 3 hrs round trip, at least. With traffic its an all day trip, lol.

I have a few things I refused to let them do: They say my belts are cracked (can probably let that one slide a few months) and I do need to do my brake and clutch fluids (dirty/contaminated) as I dont think they've been touched in 25k miles, including a few trackdays.
Dealer wanted $135 to replace the air filter, $215 to change the belts, $170 each for the two fluids. Will probably have an independent do that work.

Sin'ce youre in Sana Monica, have R&J do your work for you.

If you're used to paying dealership prices, R&J's prices will SURPRISE you.

they're located in Carson, CA. If it makes you feel better, they let you watch them work on your car, can't get better than that

Do you have a phone number for them? I tried searching for them without luck. Thanks for the heads up. Really appreciate it.

Yeah but are you okay with having to get your own filter and fluids? I got my own belts (gator backs) and all together the parts and labros were just under $100. It's really a great savings and you get to use whatever fluids you please. You just have to make the effort to buy em yourself. R&J basically does the labor for you.

Thanks Bluevelvet.

G_Sedan-I have no problem getting the parts as long as I can figure out what parts or how much fluids. Thanks.

Just another "Stealership" story....=0(

That's great if you can find a reliable independent shop to service your G. You also have the option of using Nissan dealerships. The dealership in Santa Clarita charges 40% less than Infiniti and their mechanics are better trained from my experience. Being lowered I have no problem getting on their GT-R rack. Going to Infiniti stealerships for anything other than warranty work is just not bright....
