I don't know abou anybody else, but I usually only get around 250-270 miles per tan with my G. But on Wednesday night I drove from Temecula up to Paso Robles and drove about 330 miles on a tank. To top it off I filled up in Paso after picking up my youngest brother and sister to bring them down to Alpine (East San Diego county). I ended up driving a total distance of 382 miles to get to my brother-in-law's house for his New Years party. I stopped at 371 miles
to fill the tank again. That was completely amazing for me since for the last six years I have had a fuel gauge that was never quite working well. Every time I would fill the tank, it would never register all the way to the full line and would be on E by 240-50 miles. The Nav screen would even show **** for distance left. I took it to Riverside Infiniti for a repair as the gauge had taken a complete crap and was all over the place. Since then it reads well and I can travel farther on a tank of gas. I just never thought I could go that far on one tank. Especially with the mods to the car
. Just thought I'd share.

ahh the same thing happens to me. shows empty at about 240. Do you know exactly what they did when you took it in?

Are you traveling further on one tank with the SAME amount as before? Or did fixing the gauge allow you to add more to make it fill up the tank all the way to its capacity? I know my tank only takes around 13gallons inside and it will definitely turn on the gas light when I run low. I was avging around 300mpg with that which was pretty good for me (Around 23mpg~).

I just finished a 1400 mile trip in my G and averaged 25.5 MPG. I was getting about 410 miles to the tank. The G does pretty good on long distance trips. It's the city driving that kills it.

How do you only get 13 gals in a 20 gal tank. You also only see 18gal on your gauge because it has an allotted 2 gal reserve.

i get about 180-190 miles from full to when the gas light comes up.. i do a mix of highway and city driving.. is there something wrong with my car then?

My fuel gauge or something is messed up, hence I can only put 13 in when it is right at E with the gas light on and GPS saying theres like 5 miles left. If I try to overfill it will drip out... and no I haven't dared to drive past the gas light yet to see if it is reading it wrong..Originally Posted by Rambo

When I took it in to Riverside, they said the sending units at the tank and the dash were both the problem. Like I said though, it took 6 years to figure this out? Everytime I filled it before, it only took on average 15-16 gallons to fill. It was my fear of running out of gas that I would go and fill up at 250 miles and no further. It also took Riverside to figure it out. I took it to Escondido Infiniti 3 times when I first bought the car and they never figured it out.

Is your driving pattern a bunch of quick trips? Cars run rich as they warm up to heat up the cats. The vq35de with a 5at should get about 24-25 mpg in all highways miles going 80 mph. I've averaged that since I got mine with 20k miles and now at 61k i still get the same. I use only premium gas and put in a bottle of shell vpower fuel system cleaner/additive every oil change or so.Originally Posted by mx22o

I once drove from Van Nuys to Vegas and back to state line on one tank. And if you don't know, that's more than 350 miles.... Especially since I took the long way to Vegas. (14 to 138 to 15)
