looking for a good dentist in Riverside, IE area
I need my wisdom teeth pulled out. So if any of you in this area can recommend me a good dentist, please let me know, thanks for your time.
Sucks that you are so far. I had a horrible wisdom problem and the dentist I went to was in Monrovia. It did not hurt at all. He was awesome and super cheap. I kept the tooth so I could cuss at it.
What advice would you give? The irony is I have another friend who's trying to be a dentist, and another friend who's trying to get rid of his wisdom tooth.

honestly, if you really want to save money, you should consider coming to Loma Linda University to do it because we are not profit driven (money goes to school not student) and our fee is half of private office. Everything in school would follow very strict protocols and we will be super honest because every instructors could see records of what had been done. all procedure were performed with supervision.
well the price and complications are really depending on how your tooth look. generally there are two types of extraction, surgical or nonsurgical. nonsurgical (aka simple) would be a straight up erupt tooth that that would be easiest extraction. Some general dentists do not do surgical extraction (need to cut your gum open, drill away bones and cut tooth into many pieces, pick out piece by piece and than suture) and they would refer you to an oral surgeon to do it. if that is a case, they are typically expensive like could be up to 1000 per tooth. you can also have options to get sedation during the surgery so you wont remember a thing of the extraction. however, there are different kind of sedation such as IV or conscious sedation.... it is all depends on what your dentist could offer you.

in school, pre-doc students are not allow to extract impacted third molar because of difficulty and risk. if you have impacted tooth, you will be assign to a oral surgery residents to perform extraction (who already had dentist degree and were top of their dental class).
oral surgery program are typically additional 4-6 years training after dental school
