Long Beach residents

Who lives there and what areas are the ones to avoid?(living amongst Mexicans is okay with me. except that guy Juan from the board)

Schools, What can you tell me about them..high Schools and middle?

I need to become familiar with the area if things take a direction that may include Long Beach as a new home for us.

I've lived in Long Beach for the past 6 years. I'm not an expert on which parts to avoid, but I would suggest looking in Bixby Knolls (this is where we live), Belmont Shores, and the area surrounding Cal State Long Beach. Those are the places in Long Beach where I would consider living. You should also look into Lakewood, its adjacent to Long Beach and has some nice areas as well.

Well, I live in east side long beach and I was pretty much born and raised here. My surrounding neighbors are a mix variety of some asian crip gangs near Poly High School, and a few blocks more north it's all the black gangs. And then you head down west in the Pine / Anahiem area is all the mexican gangs. (I speak from experience because I use to hangout with my neighbors a lot in high school but it got too hectic for me)

Funny that you bring this up because yesterday I was on my bike and the cops shut off New York Street, MLK Street, they pretty much shut off the whole area around Poly. And my bike instincts kicked in and I just weaved threw the cops not knowing WTF was going on! There were helicopters and so forth. Last week there was a car chase between a black guy in his honda rice rocket (he got caught down the street from my house in a couple of minutes)

If I were you I would move into the Bixby Knoll area lol or the lakewood suburbs.. the last time a mexican thug came into our block he didn't get a really good welcoming. I know north side long beach isn't what it's cracked up to be, my friend got robbed there last week!

The last time I went to west side long beach my friend got jumped by a filipino gang >.> shady **** goes on there.

p.s i'm not racist or anything just speaking from my encounters since when I was a kid to now. and the street i would avoid the most is walnut / anahiem, i can't name a time that I've rolled down that block and some mexican thugs yelled out a racial slurr towards me lol.
