Throttle Body Cleaned... failed! Help please!

I cleaned my throttle bodies, but I forgot to disconnect my neg. battery terminal. After I put everything back together, I started the car up, the idle started high, at about 2k.

After warming up, the engine idle surges from 2k, drops down to about 900, then back to 2k, and then to 900 again. I drove it for a bit, then the SES light came on.

I checked around the forums for an answer, and tried the idle air volume learning, just with failure and disappointment. I must not be doing something right.

Is there anyone in So. Cal (I live in LA, work near Rancho Cucamonga) who has performed the Idle air learning procedure and probably a ses light reset?

follow the instructions below precisely and use a stop watch, timed precisely... might take a couple tries, but it will work.

timing is critical... I've cleaned my TB many times and only had a problem the first time (that's when I realized disconnect bat then actuator)... the first time I had a problem I had to do the relearn procedure twice, second time was timed precise and worked.

Most people that report it not working end up getting it to take when they keep trying... others give up and buy new TB.

If you keep trying and time it precise, it will work.

You should also reset the ECU before the attached proceedure listed above. If you need help doing it, you can bring the car to me in Corona (off the 15/Limonite)
