Thought I'd give you guys a heads up in SoCal.
I'm not sure if this is something new, but it surprised me.
I just got a ticket for no front plate by Parking Enforcement. Those little b!tches
I always thought it was just cops who could get u on this.
I got the ticket in Hollywood so I assume since all of Cali is bancrupt
the other counties probably have adopted this practice in order to help pay for all the wastefull spending any way they can.

It was funny cause I ran up to him as he was pulling away and when he
let me know it was for no front plate I belowed out "FUUuuuquuuu".
I know he was just donig his job, it just sucked.

In one split second I realized L.A. found another way to shaft us!
What's next parking enforcement can get you for front tint, being lowered...
Well u gotta pay to play and I'm not done playin so time for the show-n-go front lic plate.

Nothing new. If you park on the street and you have no front license plate watch out!

 

For those of you still in college, the university police can give you the same ticket. With budget mess, colleges and universities are looking for ways to make a quick buck too.

they hand them out left and right in hollywood. it's just going to get worse.

 

Hang your plate with tape or something. Snap a photo, take it as proof that you fixed your no front plate to the place you make the payment and instead of paying $25 it ill go down to $10.

 

Not new. They even hand out no front plate tickets in the parking lot at LAX.

 

Parking Enforcement is just doing their job, they have to be able to identify your car and having BOTH plates is mandatory.

I havent rocked a front plate in 10yrs and have gotten ticketed by parking enforcement myself... but just sayin... :P

can you explain to me why in certain states the police DON'T need to identify your car both front and back?

 

I actually talked to a cop once about it. He said its something they see as useful when searching for stolen cars or kidnapped people. Its obvious that being able to identify a vehicle in 2 common seen locations is better than one.

I do think that is TOTALLY reasonable for mandatory front plates being a law. However; I am one of many who dont abide by it....and paying $15 for a fixable ticket when Im breaking the law also seems reasonable.

Overall, just doesnt seem like a big deal to me. Id rather be upset about things I feel are a bit more deserving of our time, like CARB.

 

so being able to identify a car from the back is not sufficient? because one way or another if giving chase for example the rear plate is still visible

so I further ask, if CAN be useful or is convenient for officers it must be a law? but only in California other states have more competent police officers?

 

Having 2 points of ID is just better than 1. Not to mention that we have a much higher population as compared to majority of the other states which leads to more vehicles on the road. We have our state laws and they have theirs...

As far as LEOs, I dont understand why they need to be brought up when its a law that they enforce, not created. Their competence shouldnt be the issue when Im only stating that it IS just better to have more ways of identifying a vehicle.

I dont really understand what youre trying to argue with here... I mean, I dont think its 100% useful for everyone, hence why I dont rock a front plate myself...

But I do think that in the .000000001 chance that if I ever have a kid and he/she gets kidnapped, an amber alert is issued and someone recognizes the description w plates when it might be parked in a lot or on the sidewalk (or someone driving who can reading backwards really awesome)...just having that extra chance of someone glimpsing the ID doesnt seem like an awful idea to me....

 

I'm trying to figure out what you thought of police officers enforcing laws that they themselves most of the time can't explain or reason. You can't really say oh it's the law they enforce and not them.. well all of a sudden they are just mindless agents who do as the law says? I hope this is not what you mean because God forbid if laws are being enforced just because they are laws, for the sake of it.

I'm not arguing with you, I just wanted to hear a reasonable explanation from someone didn't have an issue with a front plate law nothing against you as an individual
