cuz im on my second engine due to oil consumption and this new engine still burns the oil so i dont wanna void it and not b able to replace the engine again.

 

Yes, it voids your transmission warranty. It shouldn't mess with your engine. But to be safe contact the dealer you go to because each dealership has is preference

 

infiniti of riverside is pretty leanant on aftermarket parts with warranty if u go through them.

Not exactly accurate. Magnusson-Moss Act. If the dealership can prove that the aftermarket part contributed to the damage that the customer is asking to be covered under a warranty, then they can void that section out. Having an aftermarket part of any kind doesn't negate the whole warranty. The dealership bears the burden to prove the damage is due to that part being used. Now, the dealership can say they won't work on the transmission until a stock clutch is installed. Then if the problem persists, the aftermarket part isn't the cause.

I personally had to fight this on my last car. I had a K&N CAI installed on my car AT THE DEALERSHIP (they sold this kit in their parts dept). It has a CARB cert sticker and everything. Started having codes and they led to lean conditions. I took it to the dealership under warranty. They told me that they couldn't diagnose the problem until I install the stock intake. Now this is where my issue was slightly different as I din't have the stock intake since they installed it. I had to get the Parts Manager, General Manager and Regional Manager involved before they backed down and realized there was nothing they could do. They removed my intake and installed a stock intake to troubleshoot it. Codes came back - same exact codes. That helped them find the issue that was causing the codes.

The point is that they can't idly call out your aftermarket pieces as a warranty void simply for having them on.

It would suck if it came to that where you had to install your stock clutch to take it in, but they could pull that card on you. Or they could be smart about it and use the gray matter between their ears to determine whether or not the clutch could be your cause of transmission failure. Just a side note there.
