question about fitting bumper in car

hello guys, i didn't know where i would post this question, so i turned to my trusty socalers!! lol

i just paid for a sport bumper for sale here on the forum, and will go pick it up,

i will drive to his place with my wife in the car (07 g35 coupe)

is there anyway i can put my own sport bumper in the car with my wife still being able to sit in it?

someone teach me!! (i don't wanna have to drive my mom's suv up the pch!, that road was designed for sports cars!!)

thanks

kevin

I don't think the wife will be able to ride unless you strap the bumper to the roof. Or you can lay the passenger seat down, put the bumper in the car and strap the wife on the roof.

front bumper will fit. have to open your moon roof, and put the bumper in the car shaped like a "u". so that it pokes out the top. the trunk, when closed, will hold down that part so it doesn't wiggle around. it actually fits pretty easily and nicely. but no, there's no way the wife can ride. she can ride there, but has to find her way back.

rear bumpers dont fit...period. I tried that. LOL.

nope. it won't fit. you have to have the front seat leaned forward/back, your choice, as well as the back seats folded down. it's the only way to fit it in.

the roof idea is perfectly fine...or you could strap your wife to the roof too. if she HAS to come, the roof works fine. just bring straps and rope.

both will fit as long as she sits behind you. you can arc the bumper over the passenger seat so one end sits in the passenger side footwell, and the other end rests on the rear, passenger side seat. adjust the passenger seat to provide clearance.

i've put a nismo, kuruma z, and stock bumper in my coupe (not at the same time, lol) so i know this can be done.

Just wanted to confirm that bigc was right! I just came back from Santa Barbara last night picking up the bumper from dukehotty, and the wife was able to sit behind me with the bumper arched over the leaned forward passenger seat, it was even that hard to put in. However I don't recommend doing this since it was next to impossible to change lanes to the right, because it blocks the rear view mirror, the rear quarter window AND the rear window, it wasnt fun at all.... Oh and by the way, brophy bros seafood was frikken amazing if you're ever at the yacht club in Santa Barbara
