PSA slow down in the rain

My g35 just hydroplane really bad today in LA. I was on the 118 going west going 60mph in 6th gear going up a hill when I lost control. My car spun around and did a 360 and i hit the center divider twice. This is the most terrifying thing that has even happen to me, good thing I hit the center divider cause the other side of the freeway is a hill. Im glad that nothing happened to me and that I did not hit anyone. Be careful guys, we are suppose to have one of the worst storm ever here in LA.

Glad you're ok!

Now I have to ask, why in the world were you doing 60 mph in the rain on a rwd vehicle, up hill?

Want to sell me those rims for cheap?

The freeway was going up hill and i didnt think 60mph in 6th gear was dangerous, and I was going straight the whole time, but I think i hit a puddle of water and started to lose traction. Did a 360 and hit the wall twice. I will be selling all the parts on my car. Give me a few days to see how much my dad's friend is going to quote me for the repairs, but I'm pretty sure it not worth fixing.

The mods that I have on the car are
Exhaust: md tdx2, berk hfc, oem exhaust
Intake: pop charger, mrev2, 5/16 spacer
suspension: bc coilovers, spc camber front and back

Hope admin wont take down my post. Im just listing the mod i have.

The thread won't be deleted if you don't make this a part-out thread. Create a thread in the Marketplace if you want to sell stuff.

Really sucks if the car ends up not being fixed. Full coverage via insurance I hope?

Damn...looks like my car. I'm in San Diego, so I know how bad its been pouring. RIP IPG35.

If it ends up being totalled (and it definitely looks that way), are you planning on another G?

(Dibs on the MD exhaust if not!)

Sorry, don't mean to be insensitive. I was in a gnarly accident in the rain a few years ago and I know how scary it can be. Glad yer OK, man.

I just had lability insurance, so the repair would be out of pocket. Just hoping my dad's friend would repair it cheap, but I don't think worth the headache and time. If it doesn't get repaired, I'm probably gonna look for a wrx.

Let me know if you want it fixed as cheap as possible tho. I mean you'd have to get it to SD, but I know some dudes.

Ouch, I had the exact same type of accident years ago in a Maxima. Heavy rain, strait interstate, then BAM hello center divider, hello ditch on other side of the road.

My problem at the time was worn tires. They weren't totally bald, but were very close. I've never let tires on a car get that low ever since.

We're glad you survived, sorry bout your G35 coupe!

I was about to ask that question, "What kind of tires are your running?" Hard tires (UTQG 600) or tires getting close to the wear knubs will cause accidents just like yours with loss of traction! Expecting the SoCal rain I replaced my rear tires last week because they were getting close...Gary

That motordyne exhaust gave you too much power to the wheels man gotta be more careful with an exhaust like that. At least you walked away.
