Do NOT do that! You are in enough trouble as it is, and you're lucky you can still come out clean with some $$$. If they catch you using another vehicle in an attempt to bypass inspection, you'll be slapped with fraud and be in serious trouble. Get everything returned to stock, get it inspected, and then throw the mods back on later.

yea it cant be that hard to return it to stock..
as for the headers, just use header/exhaust wrap and wrap it and say it is because of heat issues...i know someone that did that on his wrx on his downpipe and it worked..

OK, I don't know how to make it clear enough for you. There are no short cuts or ways around state ref. YOU MUST RETURN YOUR CAR TO STOCK. If you wanna try to swap plates with a stock car, you can try it, but I'm sure you won't get away with it, not at state ref. That is a felony and you will be looking at jail time if you're caught doing that. They dot every i and cross every t at state ref, don't try to fool them.
You were a dumbass and make a few stupid mistakes. Cut your losses and don't continue making more stupid mistakes, you're just digging yourself deeper and deeper into a hole.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than CA. Yes, cops and smog are some difficult obsticles, but if you're not a bone head about it, its not a problem.

if the intake and headers are CARB EO... then i dont have to take it off, simply by showing them the paperwork right? or are they still gonna smog my car?
and for exhaust, they just test if its under whatever decibels?

Im a smog tech, the only difference is that the ref's are the big ****s, but I had to take all the same classes they did. So here is what I can tell you.
You must have the EO numbers on the headers. The numbers must match the numbers assigned to the headers by CARB. You must have all the paperwork for the headers, recipt and original box are a plus! Same goes for all aftermarket engine parts. Smog techs and ref's have a refrence book that tells what each EO# for each part is, and where to find the EO number on the part. So if it passes the visual inspection then it goes on the dyno and must pass the sniffer test as well. And it cant barely pass the sniffer, it must pass withing factory specs.
As for the exhaust, if its not factory it must have the EO#'s. Just because it has an EO# dosent mean that its within a legal db range, but they dont test for its db, however dont be suprised if the ref writes you a refferal for db testing. As I said earlier though, your gotta have the EO#'s on them and they better match.
Its even worse in your case because too many ricers played the referees for dumbasses that they even have books with pictures of all stock parts.
Your very hard headed dude. Whats so damn hard about pulling over for an ambulance?

thanks g35mechanic. that is really good info.
what state do you work in? i think in CA, even if you have the Carb papers, they still wont let you pass. we arent allowed to modify anything here. anythging at all.

We can modify things. So saying we cannot modify anything at all is a fallacy.
CARB means California Air Resources Board approved.
From the CARB website online database of approved parts, this is what they say:

Let's not post disinformation guys. However, your car must still pass within smog limits, even with approved mods. Ideally, that is not supposed to be a problem, since the exempted part met with approvals in trials (which is why CARB approval is so hard to get for a manufacturer).
Cheers, Ted

From the CARB website online database of approved parts, this is what they say:
Exempted parts are add-on or modified parts that have undergone an ARB engineering evaluation. If the part or modification is shown to not increase vehicle emissions, it is granted an exemption to emission control system anti-tampering laws. This exemption is called an Executive Order (EO) and allows the modification to be installed on specific emission controlled vehicles. Every Executive Order part or modification has an assigned number that can be verified by Smog Check stations, BAR Referee stations, or by the ARB.
