jason, i think the consensus is that you're fvcked. if all you have are bolt-on's (ie. headers, intake, exhaust) then u can swap all this out in like a day or so. to my knowledge, the vin is also supposed to be stamped on the block somewhere so if the ref is visually inspecting the motor he might notice that the vin and the plates don't match. so simply changing plates won't be the best route. i can understand for tints u can do this, but engine-wise i don't think u can get away with it.

back in my fast and furious days i recall there being a state ref at mt. sac, but i don't know if they still do that. it was either mt. sac or rio hondo. thats the only one i can remember being around the heights (rowland/hacienda).

good luck man, hope you learned your lesson hahaha

I brought a civic in with dual exhaust and they said they didn't care about that. They only look from the cat up. One of the write ups I had on that ticket was "head lamp height" which means the car is too low and "illegal lighting" which was clear corners and blue bulbs.

The ref said nothing about the height of the car, kit, exhaust, lights or no front license plate. So just put your stock intake back on and stock headers.

The cops just sent you there to be a dick. Your also supposed to have the car off the streets within around 24 hours of getting a 24004 on your ticket and not able to drive it on the street till you get the ref test. If another cop pulls you over and sees you have an uncleared 24004 on your record he can impound your car on the spot. It's just a BS VC
