he was referring to him shedding a tear....
but, he didn't want people to think he was crying, therefore he made it seem like a piece of dust caught him in the eyeball, thus causing a tear to form....

When I first got my license, Exxon 93oct was less than .90 cents a gallon.
This was back in Jersey.
Just to derail this thread in another direction, doesn't a higher oct gas burn cleaner? Wouldn't this help the emission laws out here?

From what i heard... I'm not sure about the perforamance wise, but high oct. burns cleaner and better for the environment, but I hard the higher the oct. the lower the millage

I know that I was getting better mileage with 87 than 91 when I had my Golf VR6.
