Speeding Tickets

I've gotten 3 tickets with my G so far in a period of 4 months. Anyone have good experience with radar detectors? I commute a lot around all of Orange County and am tired of getting pulled over. I also just speed as a bad habit, not in a dangerous manner. Just like 5-10 over the posted limit and I think its this damn car. I drove a riced out Nissan Altima before and didn't get a speeding ticket for 3 years driving that car. I've actually not had a speeding ticket in 5 years, but then I got this car and well I think its bad luck, young guy in nice car...maybe its asking for it.

I checked out radar busters and got the escort 8500. I've paid $500 in tickets this year + I have 1 more in the mail. So I figure I rather spend $300 now then pay it later to the cops.

Do you have experience with them, if you areant driving like a mad man, do you have a pretty good chance to save your *** from a ticket?

VALENTINE1 is the best as far as I am concerned. I just got mine on Friday. Had my G for 3 months...got two tickets BEFORE I got the G, now I am very carefull. One more ticket, and your license may be suspended. Be sure to do traffic school if you haven't already.

VALENTINE1 has two receptor points (other may have this as well). Learn all of the 'false warnings' on your communte, and then you will be ready for the real ones. Also be really pro-active in looking for cops, I never stop scanning my mirrors and on ramps. Good luck!

I have an idea...don't go 5-10 miles over the speed limit...It's not like ur going THAT much faster...if you're doing 80, do 70...If you're doing 55, do 40 or 45...Set cruise control...check your speedomoter every so often...It shouldn't be THAT hard not to speed...There is a time and a place for everything...Like the 101 freeway at 3:30 AM is the time and the place to go 110 MPH...I guess living in LA and in the San Fernando Valley, it's virtually IMPOSSIBLE to go too fast at the time of the day where there would be a lot of cops to pull you over...And as I write this, I realize that when i had my Lexus IS, i managed to get 2 speeding tickets in a matter of 2 months...oh well...as long as you have fun and don't kill your self, think like 2Pac...THUG LIFE...

Orange County, mostly the southern part is not too busy. So the roads are usually flowing. I drive about 25-30k a year, so I am prone to more tickets, although that wasn't the case before the car, which I think is cursed.

Back in the day, I WROTE SPEEDING TIX

and I HATED IT ! ! !

But now (ok, and then)I Like to speed...Ok, I like to SPEED ALOT!!!! I can still talk my way out of a ticket, but it is a pain in the ***. Fearing someday, I'm sure I'll get hit by the same CHiPpy and talking will not work.

So, knowing that Cops have to write tickets(alot)...I got a RADAR DETECTOR! The BEL Pro RX65 by Beltronics. I love it and it works great! Before I got the detector I would get stopped about 1-2 times a month. I've had it for 7 months and only got stopped once, because I had the stereo up too high and had my head up my ***(but, I still talked my way out).

The detector always goes off way before I can even see a patrol car.

Good luck...and speed safe

You can pick up a Bel 995 for around $200. 95% same as 65 pro. I hard-wired it to fusebox driver's side. Don't leave home without it!

I havn't received ANY tickets since I started driving, Thank god *knocks on wood*, but from what I've seen the Valentine 1 looks like it's the best. I plan on buying it soon. To help avoid tickets, just learn the spots where the cops like to hide
