suggestion for next year or for anyone else who is a student and might be looking forward to looking for a summer internship next summer. Before school starts again, sign up with Inroads (inroads.org). They offer(no guarantees) minorities internship opportunities. Most are paid. Last year, the participating companies were Mattel, Lockheed Martin, Frito Lay, Liberty Mutual, a few accounting firms.(Sorry, deja vu is not a particpating company) Basically, a lot of the fortune 1000 companies. I had an intern last year. She made decent money and I think she learned a lot because anothe rcompany took her on as an intern in New York this summer. It pays to have good grades. My intern last year had a 3.9something (but 3.0 or better works too) at Claremont.
