ceramic is the best since it provides the highest level of heat rejection without using metal. Since there's no metal, it wont' interfere with electronics like GPS, AM radio, Sat Radio, etc. If you want a non-metallic tint, you can go with ceramic or a color-stable dyed. Dyed tints are usually the cheapest tints, since they tend to fade. However, some companies like Madico have lines like Charcool which are dyed, but have a lifetime warrenty against fade, peeling, purpling, etc. I was gonna get ceramic, but since the heat where I live (South Bay in Los Angeles) isn't horrible, I didn't want to spend an extra $200 for ceramic. So far I'm happy with my tint. I did a lot, of research when I was tint shopping myself. www.tintdude.com was a great help for tint information. If you're convinced that you're willing to spend $400 on tint and want the best (ceramic), your options are pretty much Huper Optic or Formula One Pinnacle. There's a tint shop in Santa Monica that does F1 Pinnancle and TintPros in Huntington Beach too. Good luck with your tint.

Lowest ceramic quote I got was for $325... formula one place down in lake forest area. As for ceramics, I've seen metallic tint installed on various cars w/ NAV and they haven't had any issues. I would've gone with ceramic but the price doesn't justify the benefits, especially where there's a good chance you might get pulled over and be forced to remove some really expensive tint. I've been using Tint Connection in costa mesa and have sent numerous people there with no problems.
