Commerce is definately the best if you are looking for live poker action. I recommend it for newbies also since they are the only ones I know that run 1/2 hold em' tables. The No Bust Blackjack is a rip-off! Figure you pay $1 every hand to the house... after a 100 hands thats $100 bucks!

Hollywood park is also decent. They have $400 NL tables regularly. Lowest Hold em' limit is 2/4 and you can play 1/2 on stud only. Again, stay away from Blackjack.

As far as online casinos: PokerStars, Partypoker (I noticed new players always win), Ultimate Bet is also good. UB and Pstars have minimum $25 deposits as opposed to PP's $50. They also have heads up NL games (up to $5,000 + $100, each player starts with 1500 in chips with increasing blinds as time goes just like normal tournament play)

Hustler is nice inside but its so deep in the ghettos that you have to constantly watch your back even inside!

I went on Christmas night last year with some friends and fam and when we walked in we saw yellow police crime tape inside. I asked the security guard what happened and he said some guy who car jacked someones ride at gun point ran into the casino as the police chased him. He took some lady hostage and then released her...big mistake, cops capped his *** to death. I am never going back.

My plates got stolen off my old car in the parking lot at Hustler when Hustler first opened!

Anyway, my list:

1.) Commerce - The best in the world. Humongous. Any limit you want. Worst players in the world. Lots of loose, action guys and tons of passive loose fish. With not too much work, you can win in the long run at any NL game they run and also at stud, holdem, or omaha $3-6 and higher. They typically have countless limit games $3-6 and $4-8, about 25 NL games on the weekend with $100 up to $600 buy in. Last weekend when I went they had 9 $9-18 LHE games and about 8 $20-40 LHE games as well as several higher then that. I regularly play the $9-18 and its a very fun action filled game. Also the food is pretty good. A bit pricey, but not much is more than $8. The best stuff is the house special chow mein($5.75), scampi with white wine sauce($7.25), chicken kabobs(with rice, whole roasted tomato, large roasted slice of onion, cucumber salad, pita bread, couscous, and some kind of yougurt stuff $8.75), and galbi(served with cabbage, kimchi, some kind of zuccini kimchi, and tofu soup $7.50). Drink service can be slow, but they now have push carts with beer and you can just run up to one of those real easy. Also there are TONS of cuties playing in the baby no limit games. If you go to the sports bar, you can pick up on drunk, over the hill 40 year old semi milf's.

2.) Bicycle Casino - Also a huge place. Hottie cocktail waitresses, esp when they wear jeans and belly shirts. The games here tend to run quite a bit tighter then at Commerce. But they do offer a players card, and you can get free food after playing for a while. The food, like Commerce is pretty good. I really like the Korean boxes. Not bad, and cost about $6. I also like that they have a bar by the asian game section that is quiet and usually not crowded. If I am waiting for a tournament to start, I usually come back here and have a few drinks and mellow out for a while. They have much less of a game selection then at Commerce. My biggest win(In terms of number of chips, not in terms of dollars) came at a $3-6 game here about 10 years ago. Some guy in a cowboy hat and from out of state came in two days in a row. He was betting and raising on every junk hand you can think of, and had the whole table going. Usually everyone was in the hand to the river except me, with caps the whole way. First night I took over 8 racks out, second night I took over 7 racks out. $1500+ in two nights at a $3-6 holdem game. It was amazing.

3.) Hustler - smaller than Commerce and Bike. It was really nice when it first opened with the faux opulence and all. Now it looks a bit worn. Not quite as ghetto as one person mentioned....its in an odd location. Gardena has really middle class areas and if you continue down RB BL, you see what might be any normal neighborhood. But with Compton to the other side of the 110, and south central/figueroa not too far to the north, its obvious that problems are going to invade Gardena to some extent. Nonetheless, the crowd at Hustler is on average far better behaved than at Bike or Commerce. The games range from loose to tight. On weekends there are more than enough $3-6, $4-8, and $6-12 games to keep any low roller happy. There are not a lot of higher limit games though they do spread up to $25-50 LHE. Drink service is amazingly fast and the cocktail waitresses are cute, though not gorgeous. You can get drunk here really quick if you want to. Food service is really slow. The food is only ok, but the daily specials are really cheap.

4.) Hollywood Park - I don't know what to say about this place. The parking lot is unsafe. The cocktail waitresses are unattractive and slow. The crowd is bad and unruly. The food service is very slow and the food is not good. The casino is run down, worn, and dirty. Games are ok, and can be very good so long as you don't have some jerk slowing it down by complaining and playing very slow. All limits regularly spread. I don't like this place and don't go there often at all.

5.) Crystal Park - Small room. Bad area. Place was outstanding when it opened....even ice in the urinals. Now I find no reason to go here. Not much poker higher than $3-6. I should note I have not been here in over 2 years.

6.) Normandie - Old school place. Bad nighborhood. I played in a tournament here about 5 years ago. I saw one of the casino staff hand her husband several extra tournament chips. I never played here again after that. From what I remember, the games were pretty good. I hear that they mostly run low limit stuff nowadays. $4-8 LHE and lower. I also know that their food is inexpensive. I won't ever play here again.

7.) Club Caribe - Very small room in Huntington park that mostly caters to low limit latino locals. There is a night club nearby which makes for some good eye candy. I also remember them having a few cute dealers. I haven't been here in a while, and there is no real reason for me to go.

8.) Hawaiian Gardens - I haven't been here in a few years. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. Food was ok, cocktail waitresses were ok, games were ok. But why go here when I have super awesome Commerce much closer to me?

I will have to agree on the waitress thing. There was one latina there that was bangin when I went. I asked her for her number, but she said she had a man, and I said "I never said I wanted to get with you. Your man doesn't let you have friends?" I laughed, took my drink from her and walked back to my table. I think she got intimidated since my cousins/homies were watching from afar cause none had the ***** to spark up a chat with her. Later on that night my female cousin overheard her say I was cute when she was giving my male cousin a drink. Why do chicks play games like that, although I'm pretty sure she gets her share of wackos on a daily basis that "having a man" line is the only way out hahaha, biotches.

yeah, I play at Hawaiian Gardens alot and none of the waitresses are hot. Although HG is not really the ideal spot for cuties. It's bascially a big tent, but the food is good and cheap. Alot of regular old guys that will sit around all day waiting to hit a jackpot.

Walked into Crystal Park once and walked back out. Too ghetto.
Hustler looks pretty swank, but I've heard stuff about crime around there.
The Bike is organized well and you get a free meal after four hours of play.

Biatches at the Commerce are more common that the other joints. Daisy Fuentes shows up every once in a while as well as some other celebs.

Nice run down of them all John. Come to think of it, I remember there are a lot of whiners in Hollywood Park. I was in a 2/4 limit game one time... By the turn I hit quads and flashed my dad the cards with no words. He was standing behind watching. The guy across was looking for a 5th spade on the river to hit his flush. It came, and we had a raise battle going. When I showed my 4 of a kind, he thought I had cheated somehow (thought my dad gave me cards?). The security came up to me and tried to kick me off the table. The dealer told him that he got beat with a better hand and they backed off lol. After that incident, I don't think I'll go there ever again.

yeah, the hot dealer at HG must be on tables that I don't play at, maybe high-limit.

eldy: most of the dealers at HG are asian. some speak chinese to the players at the table, which can be annoying. HG is so bad they have the "English Only when hand is in play" signs on each table.

wickedG35: what a nut job that guy was. you hit your quads which is sweet especially if you beat a full house, he should get his **** in a wad just because he's weak, even though that's a bad beat.
