I have heard good news frm the wawanesa insurance as they save people a lot of money. I had request a quote from them but have not received them yet. Just check them out here http://www.wawanesageneral.com/california/index.asp.
I used to pay about $500 every 6 months with Wawanesa. They are a small company located inthe San Diego area. Very good customer service from policy inception to claims process. In my opinion, they have excellent policy service staff as well as excellent, fair claims service.
I know all of this may not seem like much, but since I work for an insurance company (claims dept) think I may be a little qualified to comment on excellent claims service from an insurance co.
However, i'm no longer with Wawanesa, not because of anything they did wrong and not because of premiums. Wawanesa is ( in my opinion), better than most others. I am now insured by my employer. I pay significantly less than I paid Wawanesa. Its a great rate but no, I can't get you the same deal. It's one of those employee discount things.

Wawanesa is the cheapest I found. They do not really advertise...more rely on word of mouth. I went to them after 20th Century jacked the prices on my 1997 Ford Escort from $680 in 1997 to $820 in 1997 to $1100 in 1999 to $2050 in 2000(thats when I told 20th Century to f---off....now the jerks keep sending me offers in the mail...forget them).
Anywho, my insurance with Wawanesa with full coverge and $500 deductible runs $1350 per year. However, I have a completely clean driving record and there is some stories of Wawanesa dropping people after one at fault accident.

i'd be paying $3,8xx for 3 cars
05 G35 coupe
05 Acura TL
05 Toyota Matrix
that's being under my mom's policy...
if i'd buy a beater and insure the car, the policy would go down to $2,4xx
and that's every 6 months!!
currently we pay $1,5xx but my name is not on the policy (i have liability with a different company)
but having 1 at-fault accident(1 point) kills me
gotta suck it up and pray i dont get anymore points on my DL..

but seeing as how i had a recent accident, i doubt they'll help me out
I have USAA and pay about $800/year. I have had a person with Wawanesa hit me before, and they were pretty good/quick. It just took a while for the claims adjuster to come out and look at the car because they sub-contract the work out.
