Like I said, the carpool and #1 has this on-ramp type of merge and guess who's parked right at the middle? Mr. CHP with his radar gun. Guess he was gunning down for carpool lane speeders.
I always see him there too. I always slow down when i come up on that section.

Can I buy that bunny instead, then cut his leg off and use it as a good luck charm as an alternative to the detector???

Seriously though, my friend is LAPD and "they do have pressure officers to write more tickets, but usually the ones that are not producing in the first place"

Is that a quota system?

I guess it depends on how you define, "quota." If they are given a HARD number to produce, then you could call it a quota. But if it's just a general "prodcutivity issue," then you could probably get around it.

Either way, if you're an officer and you write one ticket a month, red flags will be popping up and they might start asking you what the hell you're doing, i.e. "You taking breaks at the local Krispy Kremes?"

By the way, this turned out to be a rumor/hoax. It was on the news today. When the news interviewed the OCSD, they said they had no plans to partake in any activity of that sort to raise any money....

Now my question is, are they saying this cause they got exposed? LOOOL.

I would rather believe it was a rumor...I mean cmon...OC needs money??? Please.
