No Right Turn from 7-9?!?!?!

There was a traffic accident in front of my place today and I was forced to go the opposite way I needed to go. In the process I decided on turning right to get back on track. Once I did, I get caught for turning right when I'm not allowed to! What a way to start off the day. The cop was sitting there waiting to catch people. I was the first one caught, but before she even got my license, she stopped 2 other cars. By the time I got my ticket there were 5 other cars stopped behind me!

Any traffice experts out there? Any way I can get out of this by saying she set a trap?

TIA

I don't understand, if a cop is on a private property they're not allowed to give tickets from that location?

It's not a trap unless she stole the sign that said No Right Turn 7-9am.

no if a cop is on private property its much easier to contest. I had a friend who got outta a ticket cause the cop was sitting on the driveway of private property and then got him for speeding. Theres ways around that. Its more frequent that you would get tagged on the road/fwy compared to that. You can have the argument that the officer has to have consent from the owner of property or some bullshi* like that. The police wont come out to the scene to fill a report for an accident @ the mall for example UNLESS people are injured or they are needed. That has nothing to do with getting a ticket but yea.. hahaha

From the original post, I didn't read anything about the cop being on private property. Cops are allowed to parked on someone's private driveway if only they have consent to do so. Otherwise you could fight it and have it thrown out of court. Unfortunately TrojanG, you don't have a case.

Oh one question...was there a school nearby?

No the cop wasn't on private property, she was just sitting on the side of the road. I drove back there after work, and I can't belive I missed that HUGE sign sitting there. I also can't understand why there would be a no right turn sign, I've seen no left turn signs that stop people from holding up traffic. But not a no right turn. Not to mention there was no traffic until she stopped the 6 cars. There wasn't even enough room to pull over, cars were being stopped in the middle of the street while she walked around taking drivers licenses.

And no, there is no school nearby.

All you can do is go to court and hope she doesn't showup. Usually near school zones, they put no right/left turns 7-9am because kids are crossing.
