Cabin Filter?!

The dealer recommended that i change my cabin filter thing that is located somewhere in the glove compartment.

I've never changed it myself, nor do I really want to. But since they are asking for $160 for the removal and re-installing a new one, i'm willing to give it a try.

Now, does anyone know how to do this? Is it easy to do? Can't i just get a filter from Autozone or Pep Boys for cheaper?

Your advice is appreciated.

Also use search for a cheaper afermarket filter. Instructions are here. It's easy as hell too.

There's a "how to" article coming in the next issue of Sport Z Magazine. Check out the new cover and table of contents on www.SportZMagazine.com

After comparing the standard Nissan micro-cabin filter with the Gord's carbon hepa filter the choice was easy. I now have the Nissan filter available for $25.00 (what I paid for it) and will install it for free. The kicker... in my garage.

As for the other options I couldn't find any other filters that I could actually lay my hands on in time for the article (including the new Nissan carbon micro-filter). Has anyone actually seen-touched-held another micro-cabin air filter besides the two I used for the article?

Wow $160 for the cabin filter change? That is extreme. Save the $100+ dollars and purchase here:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/cata...&parttype=6832

Wix Air filters, I bought two because it's only 30 more cents for shipping.
