allright, so the boy is coming to visit from NYC...i'm planning on taking him to SD, but i don't know the area that well. can you guys give me some recommendations on restaurants (preferably with a view), clubs, bars, etc?

Restaurants with a view... Mr. A's, Island Prime, World Famous... Kind of depends on what kind of food you want and what your price range is. As far as clubs, it also depends on what kind of music and atmosphere you want. We just had a new club open up in Little Italy last night called Crudo. (Bad name if you ask me) Stingaree is also relatively new as well as Belo. They're all pretty upscale, running around $20 for cover unless you know someone to get you on the list...

I hated driving in the GasLamp Quarter. Nice area to walk around and drink at the local pubs tho. http://www.gaslamp.org

 

Marine Room has a great view, quality food, and romantic atmosphere. $$$$ though.
