I know to some people 94 might seem bad, but I was going down a big hill and the flow of traffic was 83-85mph and I sped up to pass someone. No one and I mean no one goes 65 there.

It looks like I will go to court, go to traffic school, AND pay the ticket (since Im a minor). My step sister got a ticket for 75+ in a 45 and she did that and paid almost 4 c notes.

Why is that people rather speed up and cut somebody off rather than slow down and be courteous? oh well...that's the way I see it. I hate it when a jackass speeds up and cuts in my lane when there's nobody behind me. Some people just wanna be 1st in line. What...are we in elementary school still?

Agreed, some poeple are just not attentive to there surroundings esspecially while driving. All they see for the most part is what's in front of them and to the side of them. Hardly do people actually pay attention to a 360 radius of whats around there car.

I'm not actually sure a minor can go to traffic school. Back in the day when I first got my license (yes, it was when model T's were the sh**), a minor couldnt go to traffic school. Hell, I even had to appear in court with my parents.

I didnt try the trial by declaration back then, but you might want to check into whether you can plead "guilty" or "not guilty" without your parents present. I think as a minor the court may require that you have the counsel of your parents.

Good luck

Here's the bottom line...

Whether your 16 or 61, you were going 25+ miles over the limit.
Guess what that means.
Traffic school is *NOT* an option.

nuff said.

you're stuck with the point... for 3 years.

as for the current case, hope to God that cop don't show up in court.
it seems lately, the cops are given more than enough time and opportunity to write back a response. hell, it almost seems like they're required to do so. (if you're doing a trial by declaration)

i got a bogus speeding ticket a couple months back.
i was going 65 in a 65. jacka$$ wrote down 82.
there was mild traffic. and no possible way i was going that fast.
i asked him if he used a radar. he said "... no..."
how am i gonna fight it?
i'm gonna show up this time and i'll take it from there...

my previous speeding ticket in June 2005, i wrote in a declaration...
i was mailed back a "GUILTY" letter and the case was CLOSED.

for the future...
get a radar detector.
watch your rear-view.

good luck and POB

^ I dont know about that...My step sister got a tciket and the cop wrote "75+" and it was a 45mph zone. She did traffic school with that.

And yes I do need a radar detector. For the rear view mirror part...The cop was actually in front of me radaring and I did see him I guess cuz I was looking at the off ramp or at my blind spot. (He was on the left).

I got a ticket for 97 in a 70 when i was 17. Couldnt do traffic school cuz it was 25+ but the ticket was $380 and my insurance waives the first ticket so it didnt count against me in that regard, just so you can get an idea of how much it'll be.
