FS: New Compression Rods w/ Energy Poly Bushings
#46
I can't Imagine that the whitelines are any better, but I have never run them myself. My experience with the energy's has been great tho. As long as they're well greased they should be noise free and fix caster problems. I'm sure the whitelines are great too, but essentially the same material.
My car has stock nvh, the steering feels much better and my caster problem is squared away.

You know its funny you mention caster. I hit a rather large pothole a little while back, on the right side. Ever since then, my caster has always been off on the right front. I bought SPL Front UCA's that adjust caster as well as camber, to get my right side back into spec, caster-wise. Perhaps these compression arms have been my issue since hitting that pothole, perhaps. Hmmmm...

Yes, absolutely. Because the caster isn't adjustable, it relies solely on how square the frame is. The only variable is how that bushing sits within the compression rod, because its the only thing between the rod and the frame. So, when that rubber bushing goes, you're unsquaring how the suspension sits. That's like trying to push a shopping cart with one wheel lower than the other 3. It's not cool. The poly (or metal SPL) is hard enough to keep the connection between the rod and frame square.
Thanks for answering my questions. I'm becoming more interested, considering it seems like its what happened with my caster after hitting that pothole.
Thanks,

Right on. Do you use any other bushings besides Energy and poly type? I heard the poly can make the suspension really hard. Not sure, since I've never used them. In your experience with these, are they much "harder" than what comes with OEM sports suspension? Have any experience with Hardrace bushings? I need to look up Mevotech also, since I never heard of their products....would you consider doing this upgrade with OEM compression rods?

You can put them in your OEM rods, yes, but the reason I sell the new rods with the bushings is cuz the ball joint on your OEM rod is most likely ready to be changed too. Might as well just replace the whole rod or you'll be doing the job twice.
The harshness to me is undetectable. It feels very close to stock, only better. Tighter steering and better alignment capability.
