The V2 bracket does allow more vertical adjustability - but we have found in some cases that it does rub. Some drivers have no issue with clearance (rub) even with the 1st gen ones but some do.

I finally got around to installing the bar. Much easier this time around (I had practice ), however I do notice that hood pops up slightly, especially on the drivers side. Sorry for no pics. It's not to noticable unless I constantly stare at it. So I was wondering if anyone removed the stock hood liner?

Other than that, the car drives much better. Feels more secure on turns and also over road defects (depressions, small pot holes, etc.)

Anyone who doesn't have this bar, SHOULD DEFINITELY GET ONE! Right on Richie for coming out with this awesome product at a great price!!

Do you have to remove the engine cover to install this?
I seen pictures on here where people either have it cut of took it off.
I have 5/16 spacer on and I do not want to remove the engine cover.

i think it depends. i have a 5/16 spacer and MREV2. it was rubbing one spot on the engine cover. it also rubs the hood liner. i took my engine cover off, and plan on getting a 350z cover.

Thanks for answering the question izmir.

s2k, if you have a spacer and the engine cover on, the chances of rubbing is pretty high, so you either have to go with:
- no engine cover
- 350z cover
- G35 cover and take a chance of rubbing

Richie Strut Bar.........

Richie I've had my strut bar on for several months now and the damn thing
really works! If I may suggest, stop using the stainless bolts and get some
grade 8....3/8x3" bolts that won't strip the minute you put some torq on them. They're pretty but weak!

I have the 3/8" MD spacer & the engine cover on & it clears just fine (with the bar all the way down on the lowest setting)....I can post picts if needed. Doesn't hit the hood either.

You are full of $hit...you don't even own a G35! I finally have confirmation about when I'll be attending a conference in Boston...I'll shoot you an email to let you know what is up.
