Dark Tint and Stillen exhaust. How can I register this thing?

Hey I'm trying to register my G35 down here in Houston. Couple problems that I didn't have in Hawaii:

20% tint on front windows and a track exhaust.

I'm considering driving up to San Antonio and using a buddies address to register it there bc I heard they don't have the sniffer test. But that still leaves me with dark windows. Any suggestions?

Does the track exhaust have HFCs on it or just a straight pipe/test pipes?

It's got HFC's. It wouldn't pass the Colorado emission test. I tried while I lived there for a few months.

You're prob going to need to take off the HFCs and put the oem cats back on in order to pass smog.
That's what I had to do out here in Cali.

20% is real close to our limit of 25%... just make sure they're REALLY clean and maybe some lousy inspector won't notice the 5% difference?

find some used OEM cats and put them on and you should pass. i have 20% and have never had any issues with the tint

We use a device gets calibrated daily that slides over your window. But some like me let can be nice, my advice is go with the windows down and most inspectors are lazy so they wont check you tint if they have to raise your windows. As for the exhaust the pretty much only major city thats not a emissions city in TX, is here in San Antonio. With that said good luck or just pm me when come this way for a visit.

Maybe not. They are changing the way the do the smog test now. July 2012 they are just going to hook it up to the ECU and read it from there. Well, at least for cali. That is the new word right now. If it is the same for all over then you don't have to take yours off.
