12 mpg!!!??? I know we get low gas mileage but I dont think I've ever gotten lower than 18 in my coupe.

possible problems...driving too fast, carrying to much cargo (weight), low cold tire pressure...maybe its a maintenance issue.

anyways, to me thats really low...

Can you smell rich gas fumes outside of the car? Any check engine light?

I had 12mpg millage freeway / 8mpg street a while ago. It turns out one of the o2 sensors on one of the cats went bad. Infiniti covered the o2 replacement.

I do the exact same thing and I'm averaging 21 mpg.

12 mpg seems unusually low. i get 21 mpg (according to the nav unit) from a combination of street and freeway.

when i drive in the city i get about 16 (with mods). and the car def runs a little rich. i also hold my car in gear longer and i never use 6th..i think the sweet spot for the city is around 3-4.5k rpms (for hills). otherwise i keep it around 2500-3500 for relatively flat parts..any lower and the car gets too bogged down and it seems like its wasting fuel going nowhere.

Wow, I thought i had bad gas mileage. I'm complaining about 18-19mpg average on my tank. Filling up at about 300miles per tank. I don't know how some people get like 400+ miles per tank on some other threads i read.

gas mile

285mile/16g=17.8mpg in the city
400mile/17g=23.5mpg on the hwy
shifting is around 3-4k on 1st and 2nd gear. then 3k after that.
the # are from when the light is on. So I know i still have couple of gal. left.

wow..

I just avg'd 340 on a 6mt 05' coupe with 20's/test pipes/exhaust/and filled up @ 17.5 gallons.. Not too shabby I guess huh?

oh and that was about 90% city too.. oh.. and the tank lasted me about 11 days lol

that's aboot 17 mpg..

Edit: I'm sorry... 17 mpg would mean that I ran 340 miles at the full 20 gallons, when techically I ran 340 miles on 17.5 gallons soooooooo... WHOA.. I just calculated 19.4 mpg? hehe I guess i'm doing pretty well then
