Unhappy Another Window problem - won't stay up

My car is an '06 sedan, the drivers window won't stay up unless I hold the up button after it hits the top, otherwise it goes back down a few inches. I followed the procedure (hold at bottom 3 seconds and top 3 seconds) and the only result was that the window didn't work at all for about 1 minute.

The car is still under warranty, but if they have to take the door panel off they will have a fit, I have sound deadened the door, so they won't be able to get to any of the bolts. The deadening did not touch any part of the window stuff and has been done for more than 40K miles without any ill effect.

What else can I try?

BTW my wifes maxima has the same issue, but without the deadener - hers is not under warranty.

Thanks

Don't hold down for 3. Hold up, once up, for 5 and then try it.
