I crashed my car going 65 mph. Hydroplaned into the guard rail and I am to this day not an airbag deployed. 3 of the 4 sides were damaged heavily. around 9,000 dollars in body work. Count me in, always looking for suits to prepare me for law school

OP, did it ever occur to you that since the problem (airbag light) only comes on when it rains, that's it is something outside the car. Granted this is something that should have been realized at the dealership also. For the recall for the SAB if the light is off on the first ignition cycle after it's performed then the recall is all set. All it is is to replace and relocate the SAB (Side air bag) connectors, nothing more. honestly I would be considering that when you hit the deer, the front crash sensor was damaged and over looked by the repair shop that did you body work. I'd start there if it was me.

Oh, one more thing. When at the dealer, ask to see the Consult 2 print out showing the code that is stored in the airbag system. If the light is flashing there is a code stored.

All you need to do to fix the airbag light is to put it back in it's original state. Disconnect the battery. Unbolt the seats and lean them back. Driverside all you need to do it take the side cover off. On the connector cut all the zip ties. Pull connector apart and apply some dieletic grease. clip and unclip the connector about 5 times. Then let it hang loose. Reset airbag system. You should be fine.

The airbag recall at first wasn't because the airbag light was coming on, it was because of a lawsuit where the airbag didn't deploy. Hence the recall to cover further liability. Not all recalls are for better operation but yet for better legal protection down the road.

And everyone who paid for a airbag repair most likley got scammed by the dealer guessing what the issue was. They may not of known of the issue either.

Now this is why there's a recall to undo the recall, lmao.
