Window Problem (Not motor or controller) helpz.

My problem is that I started experiencing problems with my windows not going down/up (both at same time. I didn't think it was the motors because the driver window/lock controller makes a clicking/hissing sound (like a bad relay, especially when it’s hot, i.e. in GA now all the time). Despite that, after reading how the motors are always going out I replaced the motor, no luck, still random working/not working condition. So I go to the dealer and get the window controller and replace it, but even the replacement still makes the hiss/clicking sound. Luckily I was able to return the motors and controller but I have no clue what could be causing the problem. It really sounds like a power issue with the relays in the controller but I have no clue what’s regulating it, what the voltage should be, also maybe a grounding issue. Any thoughts or ideas would be sooooo much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you got it right with the grounds!!! I am 06 G35 owner and have wired my G, my windows go up/down very fast as does the seats. Problem is 1 and only 1 ground from block to body stock. The fix is add more grounds problem solved will add pictures later. Use 8GA car stereo ground wire and solder the crimps to the under hood locations on my car there 6 points looking for ground to the body, wire them all together and add at least 3 more points on the block. I did this and can do 0-60 in 5 sec!! no mods.

there is a kit you can buy just google grounding kits for your year and model not too expensive give you 1-2 hp extra due to the ecu working better as there is not as much stray current floating around the block your car runs more efficent too and all that from a simple ground kit...!

I just replaced brushes on my old Driver Window Motor and the window went up and now won't go back down or anything. Is the regulator the actuator? Because the tracks that hold the window and make it go up and down were pretty rusty kinda..

Never mind, I think I figured out my own question. It could possibly be my window regulator is also messed up, but what causes those to stop working? Isn't the window powered by the motor and the regulator just pulls it up and down?
