is it a grinding noise or is it like a chatter/cement mixer sound?

I have 700 miles now and it was like that from the moment I drove it away I thought it was normal on the MT. The dealer didnt seem to be worried.

i have the same thing and i have an automatic...the dealer said it could not find anything wrong with it, but i have noticed it happens more often if i let the car warm up first, i dont know it sounds weird like something grinds on something...my noise comes from the front driver side like the by the tire. where do your noise come from?

yea i have the same problem too. Ussualy when i don't let the car warm up and take off in 1st gear sounds like sorta a grinding noise...sorta like a wet fart? My moms honda crv does the same thing so i figured it was normal. But i don't know i could be wrong.

I have the same problem here, 06 6MT sedan. If I start the car up and move in 1st, as soon as I hit 1700-1800 rpm I hear a short grinding noise for about a second. I am going to take it to the dealer to see what's up, I'll keep you guys posted.

Yep, confirmed with the dealer today it's the ABS self test. Too bad they don't mention it out the door.

From what i know on the 350Z which is the same thing pretty much is that that Grinding sound is not normal. My Friend actually went to the dealer, it was a recall. According to him it is The Rear axel bearings re-packed. You guys might wanna check into that and see.
